A clothing store's WhatsApp fills up with the same few messages: "is this available in M?", "what's the price?", "do you have it in black?", "is COD available?", "can I exchange if it doesn't fit?". Often it's just a screenshot of a reel. Each one is a shopper close to buying, and the store that answers first, with the right size and a way to pay, usually gets the order. Speed matters: in a study of online leads published in Harvard Business Review, firms that contacted a lead within an hour were nearly seven times as likely to qualify it as firms that waited even an hour longer.
WhatsApp automation tools handle those messages in very different ways. Some send broadcasts and order updates and leave the questions to your team. Some add an AI agent as a paid extra. A few answer size, stock and price questions from your catalog and take the order in the chat. This list compares 8 tools on what matters to a clothing store or fashion brand: AI replies, Shopify, Instagram, price, and how each one charges for Meta's message fees.
Disclosure: we make TailorTalk, so weigh our pick accordingly. Every other tool's features and prices come from its own website, checked between 15 and 21 October 2026. We don't sell or earn from any of them.

What a clothing store needs from WhatsApp automation
Most WhatsApp tools were built for broadcasts and support tickets. Selling clothes asks for a few things more:
- Answers from the live catalog: sizes, colours, stock and price for the exact piece, not a link to the collection page.
- A way to find the product from a photo or screenshot, because shoppers often send a picture rather than a product name.
- Size help, based on your size chart and the measurements the shopper gives.
- Taking the order in the chat: a payment link, or cash on delivery where you offer it.
- Order confirmations, shipping updates and abandoned-cart reminders, which go out as WhatsApp templates.
- Broadcasts for new drops and sales, sent only to customers who agreed to hear from you.
- A clean handover to a person for exchanges, custom orders and anything the AI shouldn't decide.
- Instagram DMs in the same place, since many fashion shoppers find you there first.
For how those steps fit together from the first message to the payment, see our guide to WhatsApp sales for clothing brands.

The 8 best WhatsApp automation tools for clothing stores and fashion brands
1. TailorTalk: best for selling in the chat
TailorTalk is an AI sales agent built first for fashion and apparel brands. On WhatsApp, Instagram DMs and website chat it answers the questions clothing shoppers actually send, from your live catalog: sizes, colours, stock, price, delivery and exchanges. A shopper can send a photo or screenshot and the agent finds the matching product. It recommends in-stock pieces, sends a payment link and follows up with shoppers who went quiet.
With Shopify connected, it also sends order confirmations, shipping updates and abandoned-cart reminders on WhatsApp to customers who have messaged you. When a chat needs a person, such as a custom order or a complaint, it hands over with the whole conversation.
- Price: WhatsApp comes with the Growth plan, $112 a month ($89 billed yearly) for up to 1,600 conversations, with the AI included. Starter, $49 a month, covers Instagram and website chat only. 7-day free trial.
- Meta's fees: you connect your own WhatsApp Business account and Meta bills you directly.
- Fashion proof: Mysore Saree Udyog handles 8,500+ leads a month across WhatsApp and Instagram, and Samyakk 1,000+ Instagram enquiries a day.
- Watch out: it is built to sell and support in conversations, not to be a full email and SMS marketing suite. The number you connect can't stay on the WhatsApp Business app.
2. Zoko: best for Shopify fashion brands
Zoko is a WhatsApp platform made only for Shopify stores, with 3,000+ Shopify brands on it by its own count. It syncs your Shopify catalog to WhatsApp and includes ready-made flows to recover abandoned checkouts, double-confirm cash-on-delivery orders, convert COD to prepaid, send order notifications and collect reviews. Its case studies include fashion and jewellery brands such as Genrage (streetwear), Weavers India (handloom sarees) and Velvet Box (jewellery).
The AI comes as three add-ons: Guru answers FAQs from your store policies and products, Wismo answers "where is my order?", and Sello takes orders in the chat.
- Price: Starter $49.99 a month plus $0.015 per conversation; Plus $79.99, Elite $139.99 and Max $499.99, with lower or no per-conversation fees. Guru and Wismo cost $24.99 a month plus $0.09 per resolution, and Sello $24.99 a month plus 3% of order value. Instagram is $9.99 a month extra. 7-day free trial.
- Meta's fees: paid directly to Meta at Meta's rates.
- Watch out: Shopify only. With all three AI add-ons, a Starter store pays about $125 a month before per-resolution fees and the 3% on orders.
3. Charles: best for large European fashion retailers
Charles is a Berlin-based WhatsApp marketing and commerce platform whose customers include fashionette, SNOCKS, Takko Fashion, Jack Wolfskin and Kapten & Son. Its AI agents answer size, delivery, stock and returns questions in your brand voice and hand over to a person, and it runs campaigns such as back-in-stock alerts with the shopper's size in the message, abandoned carts and order updates.
- Channels and stores: WhatsApp, RCS, web chat, Instagram Direct and Messenger; connects to Shopify, Shopware, Klaviyo, Emarsys, Braze, Gorgias, Zendesk and Salesforce.
- Price: not published. Every button leads to a demo or a sales call, and we found no free trial.
- Watch out: built for brands with a CRM team and a marketing budget. A small boutique will find it more than it needs.
4. SleekFlow: best for multi-channel retail teams
SleekFlow, based in Hong Kong with offices across Asia, the Middle East, the UK and the US, puts WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Messenger, TikTok, LINE, WeChat, Telegram, SMS, email and web chat in one inbox. From the Pro plan an AI agent answers from your knowledge base and hands over to your team, and Shopify, the WhatsApp catalog and Stripe payment links are included. Its customer stories include TKD Lingerie in Dubai and the styling-box brand Wear That.
- Price: Essential $49 a month (rolling out by country), Pro $109 and Premium $279, or 20% less billed yearly. WhatsApp number hosting is $15 a month. 7-day Pro trial with no card. Plans bought through the Shopify App Store are priced differently (from $199 a month).
- Meta's fees: charged on top, at SleekFlow's rate card.
- Watch out: AI and Shopify start at Pro, so budget $109 a month plus hosting, not $49.
5. Interakt: best value for Shopify stores in India
Interakt, from Jio Haptik, is a WhatsApp and Instagram inbox with broadcasts and Shopify catalog sync, made for Indian D2C brands. Its Shopify app sends order updates, abandoned-cart reminders and COD confirmations to cut returns on cash orders.
- Price: Growth $55 a month for WhatsApp and Instagram; Advanced $69. The Shopify app has its own plans from $21 to $99 a month. WhatsApp AI Agents are a $74.99 a month add-on on Growth and Advanced, with 100 AI messages included and $0.011 for each one after.
- Meta's fees: charged at Interakt's own per-message rates, which fall on higher plans.
- Watch out: the AI is an add-on, so the real price for an AI-answered inbox is about $130 a month.
6. WATI: best all-round WhatsApp team inbox
WATI is one of the best-known WhatsApp Business API inboxes: shared team inbox, broadcasts, chatbot flows, a WhatsApp catalog and Shopify abandoned-cart and order templates. It also automates Instagram DMs and comments.
- Price: Growth $69 a month ($59 billed yearly) with 3 users and one channel, Pro $149 and Business $349. The Shopify add-on is $4.99 a month. WATI's AI agents, Astra, are priced separately, from $99 a month with WhatsApp. 7-day free trial.
- Meta's fees: charged at WATI's own rate card.
- Watch out: with the AI added, WATI costs about $168 a month, and the Growth plan covers one channel.
7. QuickReply.ai: best for cart recovery and COD campaigns
QuickReply.ai is a WhatsApp marketing platform for Shopify D2C brands, run from Singapore and India. Its strength is retention: abandoned-cart journeys, COD confirmation and COD-to-prepaid nudges, order updates and repeat-purchase reminders. Its case studies include Louzan Fashion (an Arabic cart recovery journey) and Amama Jewellery.
- Channels: WhatsApp, Instagram (DMs, story mentions and comments), Messenger, SMS, RCS, email and web chat in one inbox.
- Price: its own site quotes a price for each store. On the Shopify App Store it lists Starter $59, Standard $149 and Plus $299 a month, with messaging charges extra; the WhatsApp catalog comes with Plus.
- Watch out: its "AI Agents" run marketing follow-ups. Customer questions go to chatbot flows with handover to your team, so check how it handles a size question during a demo.
8. AiSensy: cheapest way to start
AiSensy is a low-cost WhatsApp Business API tool built around broadcasts, with Shopify order, shipping and abandoned-cart messages. It suits a small brand that mainly wants to announce new drops and sales to opted-in customers.
- Price: a Free Forever plan with no broadcasts; Basic $45 a month and Pro $99. The AI Chat Agent is a $50 a month add-on with 1,000 AI messages; chatbot flows are an $80 a month add-on.
- Meta's fees: prepaid message credits, recharged separately from the plan.
- Watch out: WhatsApp only, with no Instagram DM automation that we could find.
Also worth a look: Textyess
Textyess, an Italian WhatsApp marketing and AI platform for Shopify brands, sells one Pro plan at €249 a month that includes Meta's message fees: 1,000 outbound messages and 1,000 AI or operator replies, then €0.12 per extra message and €0.10 per extra reply. Its AI agents answer order questions and recommend products. Useful if you want one predictable bill and sell mainly in Europe. Its Shopify App Store listing shows different plans, from $290 a month, so confirm the price before you sign up.
Free first: the WhatsApp Business app
A small boutique can start without any tool. The free WhatsApp Business app has a product catalog, a greeting message, an away message and up to 50 quick replies, enough to answer the commonest questions with one tap. Our WhatsApp Business auto reply guide shows how to set each one up, with sample messages for clothing stores.
Meta has also added its own Business Agent to the app, an AI that answers questions and recommends products from your business catalog. Getting started is free, and Meta's paid Meta One plans add more responses. Turning it on switches the app's greeting message off. If your questions are simple, try it before you pay for a tool.
The app gets hard to run once messages pile up: replies wait for whoever has the phone, and the account runs on one phone plus up to four linked devices. That is the point to move to one of the tools above, which use Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform (the API).
One thing to know before you switch: with TailorTalk, the number you connect can't stay on the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app, so you either move it over or use a second number. Ask any other vendor the same question before you sign up.
What it costs: the plan plus Meta's fees
Every tool here sends messages through Meta, and Meta charges per delivered message, by type and by the customer's country. Since 1 October 2026 each business number gets 1,000 free replies a month inside the 24-hour customer service window, and Meta charges for each one after that. Order updates are utility messages, and new-collection broadcasts are marketing messages, the most expensive kind.
| Customer's country | Marketing message (a drop or sale) | Utility message (an order update) |
| United States | $0.025 | $0.0034 |
| United Kingdom | $0.0635 | $0.022 |
| United Arab Emirates | $0.0576 | $0.0157 |
| Saudi Arabia | $0.0576 | $0.0107 |
| Singapore | $0.0732 | $0.016 |
| India | $0.0118 | $0.0014 |
So a new-collection broadcast to 2,000 UK customers costs about $127 in Meta fees, and the same broadcast to US customers about $50, before any markup your tool adds. Shoppers who reach you from a click-to-WhatsApp ad open a free window of up to 7 days in which Meta doesn't charge for your messages, which makes ads to WhatsApp a cheap way to start conversations.
How each tool passes these fees on differs, and it matters more than a $10 difference in the plan. For the full breakdown, with a worked example of what an AI agent's replies cost, see our comparison of WhatsApp automation tools for business.
How to choose
- Count your messages. If most are questions about size, stock and price, you need AI that answers from your catalog. If most are order updates and campaigns, a marketing tool will do.
- Check where the AI comes from: included in the plan, sold as an add-on, or not there at all. Add the add-on to the price before you compare.
- Check your store platform. Most tools connect to Shopify (here is how to connect Shopify to WhatsApp); fewer connect to WooCommerce or a custom store.
- Ask how Meta's fees are billed: straight to your own Meta account, or at the vendor's rate card.
- If you also sell on Instagram, pick a tool that answers both in one place, so a shopper who moves from your DMs to WhatsApp gets the same answers.
- Test with your real questions during the free trial: a screenshot, a size question, an exchange request.
Once the store runs on WhatsApp, the list of past buyers becomes an asset: see how to win back past customers on WhatsApp without cold outreach.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best WhatsApp automation tool for a clothing store?
If most of your WhatsApp messages are questions about size, stock and price, TailorTalk is the best fit: its AI answers from your live catalog, finds products from a screenshot, and takes the order with a payment link, with the AI included in the plan ($112 a month with WhatsApp). For Shopify marketing flows with AI as an add-on, look at Zoko; for large European retailers, Charles; for a low-cost broadcast tool, AiSensy.
Can WhatsApp answer size and stock questions automatically?
Yes, with an AI connected to your catalog. Quick replies in the WhatsApp Business app are fixed text you send by hand. An AI agent answers the exact question, such as "is the black kurta available in L?": TailorTalk reads sizes and stock live from your Shopify store or product catalog and hands over to a person when it can't answer, and Meta's own Business Agent answers from the catalog in the WhatsApp Business app.
How much does WhatsApp automation cost for a fashion brand?
Add up the plan, the AI if it is sold separately, and Meta's per-message fees. Plans with WhatsApp start around $45 to $112 a month; AI add-ons cost $25 to $99 a month on the tools that sell them separately; and a broadcast to 2,000 customers costs about $50 in Meta fees in the US or $127 in the UK.
Can I sell clothes on WhatsApp with Shopify?
Yes. Most tools on this list connect to Shopify to sync your catalog, send order and shipping updates and remind shoppers about abandoned carts. Our guide on connecting Shopify to WhatsApp walks through the setup.
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API, or is the app enough?
The free WhatsApp Business app is enough for a small boutique that replies by hand, with a catalog, greeting and away messages and quick replies. Once you need AI replies, several people answering, Shopify order updates or broadcasts at scale, you need the API, which every tool on this list uses.
Can one tool handle Instagram DMs and WhatsApp together?
Yes. TailorTalk, SleekFlow, Charles, QuickReply.ai, WATI and Interakt's Growth plan cover both, and Zoko adds Instagram for $9.99 a month. Fashion shoppers often start on Instagram and move to WhatsApp to order, so one inbox that gives the same answers on both saves orders.
